About The Author

David Dilley

Hi, I’m David Dilley and I am excited you have decided to visit “Seeking The Things Above” website.

It was my sophomore year in high school when I decided to attend Sunday school class at our church. The subject was the second coming of Christ. God used that morning as a trailhead moment – my journey with Christ began. I studied engineering in college, worked for some top corporations and finished my career in a senior management position with a biotechnology company. But throughout my life journey, I have been passionate about pursuing God, joining with others to mine the scriptures for a greater understanding, and to share what God has put on my heart . I desire for “Seeking The Things Above” to be another means God uses to encourage and challenge us in our journey for His glory and our good.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we live in difficult times. The world has moved to a perceived relative truth which is in fact no truth at all.  The idea of a sovereign God who alone defines truth is being attacked.  Sound Christian doctrines are declared evil.  Our world is seemingly a reflection of biblical history when in rebellion the nation of Israel chased after false gods, worshiping idols of their own making in complete disregard for the provisions of the One who created all things.  It is again a time where everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes.

In this challenging time, I want to join with you in developing a deeper relationship with God, being challenged to fix our eyes on the author and perfector of our faith, and to walk in His ways as an imitator of God (Eph. 5:1).  We need to understand what it is we believe, being equipped to stand firm against the spiritual forces arrayed against us, and to bring truth to a deceived and dying world.  Christianity is under attack both without and within the “church”.  Jesus declared that He is “the way and the truth and the life” and that salvation is possible only through Him. As soldiers in a spiritual war that expands way beyond our three-dimensional existence, we are called to the battlefield with a clear assignment – to stand firm to the glory of our victorious God.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

— Ephesians 6:13
