What does it mean to have a relationship with God? The Bible speaks to that father child intimacy that God desires for all who seek His face in humble confession and adoration.  But when contemplating this magnitude of this spiritual connection, I want to cry out,

“Yes, but what does that mean?”

I think most of us would immediately reflect on our earthly experiences as a child, an acquaintance, a friend, or as an intimate marriage partner – each of these comprised of different relational attributes.  Drawing upon these points of reference, we attempt the translation from the familiar physical realm to the spiritual domain which seems veiled.  Part of the challenge emerges in our inability to meet with God at the local coffee shop for a time of direct engagement.  Our relationship with God calls upon spiritual understanding as the Apostle Paul discusses in 1 Corinthians 2.  What is it to have received the Spirit of God, that we might know the things of God?  More explanation is needed as we pursue that intimate communion with God – join the journey.
